I'm just trying to get people to examine their REAL reasons for stumbling out of the JW's.
Maybe with the passage of time, they'll realize that serving Jehovah really is the best way of life.

mrsjones, you may be right when you say that the WT says the ransom sacrifice applies only to the 144,000.
There seems to be an article on it in the 6/15/10 Study WT, but I don't have easy access to this issue.
Perhaps it's the propitiatory sacrifice that applies to the other sheep. (1 John 2:2)

Athena, I don't read all the literature, only what interests me. I comprehend most of it, but some goes over my head and I let it go.
I cooperate with the GB enough to remain an active publisher in good standing, but I don't do much more than that.
I became one of JW's to get as close to Jehovah as I can; not to earn brownie points in Jehovah's earthly organization.
As for the lurkers, they will do what is in their hearts. What I say or do won't make any difference.

I think you're getting ransom and mediator mixed up.
The ransom applies to the anointed AND EVERYONE who will live in the Kingdom on earth.
Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant, and only the anointed are included in that covenant, although everyone who will live in the Kingdom on earth will benefit from it.

mrsjones, even if he's not my mediator, the ransom he paid applies to me if I wish to claim it, and I do.

cofty, we don't emphasize Jesus because he is only one part of God's wonderful purpose for mankind.
Right now the emphasis is on the Kingdom that is about to be established, with Christ as King.

Jehovah is establishing a new government on earth with Christ and his bride ruling it from heaven. You can be a part of it. Do you want to be?

LostGeneration, what mass media are you referring to? We're on the internet.
We can't send JW's into hardline Islamic countries. They would be slaughtered. Is that what you want?
Or perhaps Christ is dealing with the Islamic countries as he did with Asia and Bithynia. (Acts 16:6,7)
